About Us

CalCo Accounting Ltd is a chartered accounting practice based in Essex that delivers tailored financial advice and management services. 

Since founding CalCo we have been focused on provided an Accurate and Accessible Accountancy service. 

CalCo was founded by Sean Powell ACA in July 2021 with the original ambition to assist a small number of friends and family after a break from advisory work. This steadily grew to the practice we have today servicing a number of businesses and individuals across Essex.

Having started out in a small two partner Accountancy practice straight from college in March 2006 Sean moved to a larger firm in January 2013 to focus on his qualifications.

After qualifying in 2016 as a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW, Sean managed a portfolio of clients covering a number of industries including; Construction and Manufacturing, Farming, Solicitors and more.

In October 2019 Sean accepted a position away from practice as Financial Controller for Gilbarco Veeder-Root, this gave Sean a view of industry and a clearer understanding of business in the real world.
